Course overview

This Power BI (Level 2) course is designed for professional users of Power BI who want to learn how to make the most of the tools available in the Power BI stack, including the Power BI Cloud Portal.

We will learn the importance of building good models, we will learn how to use DAX and Power Query to shape additional information that can be found in external data sources.

You’ll also use the new Power BI cloud platform as a way to distribute/share your reports and dashboards, and use extras such as building interactive dashboards, using Q&A, and managing data refresh and alerts for your queries and sources.
At the end of the course, we will introduce you to some hot topics such as data flows, composite models, aggregation tables, Common Data Service for apps.

Course Objective

After the course you will be able to:

Build and work with more advanced data models in Power BI
Use DAX to create calculations and analyze data efficiently
Transform and prepare data with Power Query
Publish, share, and manage reports in the Power BI service
Create interactive dashboards and use features such as Q&A and data update
Understand and use modern features such as dataflows, composite models, and aggregation tables
Design Power BI solutions for analytics, reporting, and decision support

Target Group

This training is aimed at those who want to design their own Power BI solutions.

Prerequisites

Basic understanding of DAX and you have created reports in Power BI Desktop.
Basic understanding of data storage schemes and Cubes…
Basic knowledge of databases and ETL flows

This course does not have any associated certification. Each participant who completes the course receives a course certificate.

Lasaros Mavropoulos is a consultant, communicator and coach with over 25 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data management and technology-driven solutions.
