Databases and SQL – Basic Course

Databases and SQL – Basic Course

Course overview

This course provides you with a practical and solid introduction to relational databases and SQL – the standardized language for storing, retrieving, and processing data in databases. The course focuses on general principles and working methods that work regardless of database manager and are therefore equally suitable for SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle, for example.

During the course, theory is interspersed with practical exercises where you work on writing SQL queries, creating tables and understanding how databases are structured. The goal is that after the course you will be able to work independently with basic database management and simple data analysis.

Course Objective

After the course, you can:

  • Understand how relational databases work
  • Working with tables, relationships, and keys
  • Writing SQL queries to search, filter, and sort data
  • Combine information from multiple tables
  • Create and modify databases and table structures
  • Add, update, and delete data
  • Using summing and grouping functions
  • Understand the basics of database modeling and normalization

Target Group

The course is aimed at those who want to learn the basics of databases and SQL. It is suitable for those who work with data, reporting, system administration, development or analysis and need to understand how information is stored and retrieved from databases.
No prior knowledge of databases or SQL is required, but general computer skills are recommended.

Prerequisites

No special prior knowledge is required.

Certification

This course does not have any associated certification. Each participant who completes the course receives a course certificate.
