This course covers three core elements of Microsoft 365 administration: tenant management, identity synchronization, and security and compliance.
In Microsoft 365 tenant management, you’ll learn how to configure your Microsoft 365 tenant, including organization profile, subscription options, component services, user accounts and licenses, security groups, and administrative roles. The section also covers adding custom domains, setting up client connectivity, and deploying Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.
The next section discusses synchronizing Active Directory objects to Microsoft Entra ID by using Azure AD Connect or Azure AD Connect Cloud Sync. Password management and multi-factor authentication (MFA) are also affected.
In Microsoft 365 security management, we go through common types of threats and data breaches and how Microsoft 365’s security solutions handle them. The course covers Microsoft Secure Score, Microsoft Entra ID Protection, Exchange Online Protection, Safe Attachments, and Safe Links, as well as the reports used to monitor your organization’s security posture. We’ll also walk you through threat and damage protection with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
In Microsoft 365 compliance management, you’ll work with data archiving and retention, Microsoft Purview message encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), Microsoft Purview insider risk management, and information barriers. Data categorization and sensitivity labels are also reviewed.

The course is aimed at those who are aiming for the role of Microsoft 365 administrator and who already have one or more Microsoft 365 role-based administrator certifications.
Professional role: Administrator.
Please note: The course covers general administration of Microsoft 365 including an introduction to Microsoft Defender. It is suitable for those who are going to take the MS-102 exam and need preparation. The course does not go into the administration of specific services such as Teams, SharePoint Online or Exchange Online – for these we have separate courses in our offering.
Important about multi-factor authentication (MFA):
Parts of the course lab environment may require multi-factor authentication. We recommend that you install Microsoft Authenticator (or equivalent app) on your mobile phone before the start of the course.

This course prepares you for the Microsoft MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator) certification. The certification exam is not included in the course fee and is booked and paid for separately with Microsoft.

3. Implement identity synchronization
Lab: Prepare and implement identity synchronization.
4. Manage identity and access in Microsoft 365
Lab: Manage secure user access, PIM (Administrator/Self/Teammate) approval.
5. Manage security services in Microsoft Defender
Lab: Implement Safe Attachments and Safe Links policies.
6. Implement threat protection with Microsoft Defender XDR
Lab: Alert policies, mailbox/SharePoint alerts, eDiscovery alerts, spear phishing, and drive-by URL attacks via Attack Simulation.
7. Data governance in Microsoft 365
Lab: Configure In-place Archiving and Retention Policies.
8. Implement compliance in Microsoft 365
Lab: Manage and test DLP policies.
9. Manage compliance in Microsoft 365
Lab: Implement sensitivity labels with Microsoft Purview Information Protection.
